A Chicago strip club has paid a one million dollar settlement, the maximum allowed by their insurance company, to the husband of April Simmons and family of John Chiariello.
Ms. Simmons, 27, who was eight months pregnant, was hit head on by a car driven by John Homatas. John Chiariello was a passenger in Mr. Homatas’ car.
The two men had gotten drunk at Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club, escorted out and put in their car, by the bouncers. They then drove off, killing Ms. Simmons about fifteen minutes later. Mr. Chiariello was also killed.
Mr. Homatas, 29, was found guilty of Aggravated DUI and Reckless Homicide. He is currently serving a twelve year prison term.

He must have been playing his lucky numbers.
The man who bought the winning $22 million Super Lotto Plus lottery ticket at an El Monte 7-Eleven also won $27,000 for picking five out of six numbers.
Chatchalerm Chomsevi won both prizes in Sunday’s drawing, according to California Lottery officials.
Chomsevi did not give many personal details to lottery officials, they said.
He has an address listed in El Monte and a post office box in Arcadia, according to public records.
The winning tickets were sold at the 7-Eleven at 10707 Lower Azusa Road, Lottery spokesman Bill Ainsworth said in a written statement.
The $22 million ticket matched all six numbers: 12, 40, 36, 8, 24, and the Mega Number 12, Ainsworth said.
