Inking Aloud: Make Your Own Topiary

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Before we introduce the newest release on Saturday (how is it October already??!!), I have one final project featuring Topiaries, September’s Stamp of the Month from Clear and Simple Stamps. If you want to add this set to your collection, you have a few more days to use the discount code CSS0910 for a $1 discount on your purchase of the set.

Here’s my Topiaries-inspired project. I made my own faux topiary using a plain Styrofoam ball and a bunch of small cardstock circles. This was so easy to do and turned out great. I started by punching out a bunch of circles from a piece of Kraft Like a Rockstar Green cardstock. Once I had a good pile going, I started pinning them to the Styrofoam ball using plain straight pins. I kept at it until the ball was almost completely covered, leaving just a tiny uncovered space so I could easily poke the end of a dowel through the ball to stand it up in my small flower pot. I painted the dowel brown with acrylic paint first to fit nicely with my color scheme. To hold the dowel securely in place, I squeezed some floral foam into the bottom of the little flower pot. I also cut a circular piece of Kraft Like a Rockstar Green to fit the inside of the flower pot to cover the floral foam. I threaded the circle on to the dowel before sticking the end down into the floral foam, then tied a pretty bow around the dowel at the base of the topiary. A squirt or two of Sparkle Shimmer Spritz added a fun sparkle to the project.

Now comes the stamping part. I stamped one of the topiary images along with one of the pots on a cream panel using Espresso Your Style ink. I inked around the edges with brown ink, then attached it to an Espresso Your Style panel before machine stitching underneath the image. The panel is embellished with a pair of buttons. I punched a hole through the top and ran some twine through it. I used the twine to attach my simple tag to the topiary through the knot in the bow. The topiary and matching tag make a lovely gift for someone like me who does not have a green thumb–LOL!

Materials Used:
Topiaries stamp set, Espresso Your Style ink, Espresso Your Style, Kraft Like a Rockstar Green, and On the Catwalk Cream cardstock, Espresso Your Style satin ribbon, Espresso Your Style buttons (Clear and Simple Stamps); Creamy Caramel Classic ink (Stampin’ Up!); ¾” circle punch (EK Success); Sparkle Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko); twine (Papertrey Ink); brown acrylic paint; clay pot; Styrofoam ball; straight pins; dowel; floral foam

Why The Jura Capresso Impressa Z6 Espresso Machine Is A Good Buy …

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Jura Capresso is a known brand that offers a series of coffee makers in the market. This is because it brings different products to meet the actual needs of its avid fans and to provide something new to its prospects as well. The brand name guarantees that you will enjoy sipping a cup of coffee, no matter which product model you choose. Therefore, if you are in search for a coffee maker from the brand, take a look at Jura Capresso Z6.

Jura Capresso Impressa Z6 Espresso Machine – A Look at its Breathtaking Design

The Z6 is no different from the Z5 in that the first one is said to be patterned from the other. You should not be left in awe then once you have discovered the similarities between these two. But you should not despair because the brand maker fused in some great things in the Z6 that the Z5 cannot offer.

When looking at the design of the Impressa Z6, you will surely be astounded by the fact that it made use of the fusion between aluminum and chrome plating for its front area. This is matched by a mirror-like finish that allows you to somehow read what’s displayed on its LED. As a matter of fact, you will see images of cups you are brewing via that mirror design.

It also comes with a great drip tray. This will make sure that your kitchen will not be a mess while some sprouts of coffee are coming out of the espresso machine. The area is made of zinc that had followed the process of die casting. The Z6?s drip tray is hand-polished as well.

There is also one notable distinction between the Impressa Z6 and Z5. You will find out that the Z5?s is larger with a total milk capacity of 32 ounces. Well, the Z6 can offer only around 20 ounces for such container. Nonetheless, both can still help chill your milk for a storage time of eight hours.

So, What are the Final Words Fit for the Jura Capresso Impressa Z6 Espresso Machine?

The Z6 is said to follow the footsteps of the Z5. While that is the case, there are yet other distinct things you will find in the Jura Capresso Impressa Z6 Espresso Machine that makes it such a great product to bring home with you. Of course, you should not forget how it is designed with a mirror-like frontal body.

Two other makes of coffee makers which most espresso enthusiasts consider to be the best value for their price are Jura Impressa J5 Espresso Machine and Bunn VP17-3 Coffee Maker. Get some info about them as well before making your final choice.

I am going to buy office desk for my office. And I would like to get ideas for my new desk at home. Some people use a modern decor, others use wood themes or plastic trays. I am also looking for homemade bulletin boards and pencil jars. Is there a place to get ideas for my own desk? Thanks!
